Throughout history, the YMCA has been known for spearheading several community outreach initiatives, and the YMCA of Central Virginia is no exception, with its “Give Back, Do Good,” outreach initiative. This community outreach program identifies and fills a different critical community need each month of the year. Past examples of the initiative’s accomplishments have included the collection and redistribution of coats for Lynchburg City School students in February, collecting socks for Tree of Life Ministries in March, and collecting 64 oz. bottles of laundry detergent and paper towels for Park View Community Mission in May of 2021.
